About

//

I grew up in the wilds of western Pennsylvania. Well, maybe not exactly the wilds, but wild enough that I played in the creek (which, of course, is said “crick”), climbed trees, and jumped in ginormous leaf piles.

I took a book with me everywhere. Seriously, everywhere. School, home, on the five minute drive to the store, out to dinner, to the pool . . . you name it. Just in case there was time to sneak in a couple of minutes. I’m the eldest of three siblings, and so tuning out background noise became second nature. Which is fortunate, since now I pretty much take manuscripts with me everywhere, and do a lot of reading on the subway.

I attended Dickinson College, which is a small liberal arts school in central PA, majored in English, worked at the Writing Center, and studied abroad for a year at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England (quite possibly the cutest town in the world, if you ask me). Then I attended the Denver Publishing Institute, and shortly thereafter began my dream job.

I am an editor at Greenwillow Books, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers. I edit books for young readers of all ages, from picture books through young adults. Nothing could be more inspiring or exciting than to spend my days helping incredibly talented authors and illustrators bring their books into the world, and getting the books into the hands of young people who will treasure them, be shaped by them, and love them. I am a Brooklynite now, and though I miss being able to see stars and having a backyard and porch, I absolutely adore it.
