You can no longer deny the appeal that anime has on entertainment these days. From television to cinema, the medium has a considerable influence on the industry from east to west. Even the most unexpected brands are now trying their hand at anime. So, believe it or not, Acura is ready to get its hands on the anime game.
And yes, you read correctly. We hear Acura as in the automotive brand. Not too long ago, the company ran a special social media ad, and it confirmed that Acura was working on its own little promotional anime.
The race is on. Acura introduces the Type S: Chiaki’s Journey. Broadcast 1/20. pic.twitter.com/3fug6gWspj

The series in question is called Type S: Chiaki’s Journey, and its trailer is pretty intense. The clip, which sits above, shows a young woman with vibrant pink hair getting ready for a run. Once it hits the road, the promo talks about learning hard lessons and the thrill of street racing. And in the end, well – fans are told there are more of these promos to come.
Right now, fans know very little about Type S: Chiaki’s Journey, but they do know that it’s produced in Japan. The artwork is gorgeous so far, too, and the PR series will no doubt feature a ton of Acura sellers. After all, the purpose of a promotional anime is to market something, and Acura is confident that this anime campaign will convince people to check out its cars.
You might be surprised by Acura’s move to anime, but the choice isn’t that shocking. After all, automakers have already embraced anime in their own way. Not so long ago, Toyota released a whole commercial campaign mixing real life and anime thanks to a collaboration with Initial D. So if Tesla teams up with Neon Genesis Evangelion someday, don’t say we didn’t warn you.
