‘The Crow’ Franchise to be Rebooted with Bill Skarsgard and FKA Twigs Taking Center Stage – Cinelinx

The Crow franchise is finally returning to the big screen. It has been announced that Bill Skarsgard (It) and Grammy-nominated FKA Twigs (Honeyboy) have signed on to star in the film based on James O’Barr’s graphic novel. Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell, Foundation) will direct with a screenplay written by Oscar-nominated Zach Baylin (King Richard).

“The Crow is beautiful, dark, poetic and sometimes disturbing,” says director Rupert Sanders. “It’s a story of love, loss, heartbreak and revenge. It’s a great honor to revisit James O’Barr’s iconic comic and reimagine The Crow as an ominous voice for today. .

This reboot of The Crow is dubbed: “The Crow is a modern reimagining of the titular character, based on James O’Barr’s graphic novel series that was first published by Caliber Comics in 1989.”

What exactly this entails remains to be seen. Nonetheless, this reimagining of The Crow looks to be the most promising since the 1994 version, starring the late Brandon Lee. Since then, the quality of the franchise has continued to decline to the point that it hasn’t been revisited since 2005. With huge talent like Bill Skarsgard and FKA twigs attached, a blockbuster director and a screenplay written by Baylin , it seems that The Crow franchise could finally become relevant again.
