Each year, MUSE chooses a theme and key books as the basis of its educational work. “Rebuild” is the 2020-21 theme, and an accompanying book is Takei’s graphic novel, They called us enemiesa New York Times Best-selling book about his family’s experience in Japanese-American internment camps during World War II. It tells a harrowing story of his family’s uprooting and imprisonment throughout the war. Free copies of They called us enemies are available now at the MUSE office at the Sill Center at 195 Central Campus Drive.
